About

JACK is a producing ensemble based in Los Angeles, founded in 2008 by Jens Kohler, Annette Reid, Carlos Carrasco and Kent Minault.  The name “JACK” is an acronym of our first names.

The four of us have worked together in other groups since 2000, and Carlos and Kent have collaborated together since the 1980s.

We come out of the vibrant Los Angeles classical theater scene, but our work takes us in many interesting directions.  While we have continued to produce theater, we have branched out into poetry, music and film.  A short film we made — Honesty, Pencil, Rose — was the finalist for the dramatic short category of the 2011 International Family Film Festival.

Our artistic values are grounded in a few simple elements of the craft:

• that we be audible;
• that we honor the author’s intent as best we can discern it;
• that language be connected to feeling.

And upon this ground our — the artists’ and the audience’s — imaginations are unbound.
